Understanding the Service
What Is Pre-Production Inspection?
The PO is placed, the materials are in the factory, and nothing has been built yet — the cheapest hour in your order to be wrong. Our inspector goes in before the line starts and checks raw materials and components against your bill of materials, the tooling and machine setup, and packaging stock against your approved artwork. Anything wrong here repeats on every unit.
A client's supplier substituted a cheaper fabric without notification. The PPI caught it before a single unit was produced. Without PPI, 5,000 garments would have been made with the wrong material. Cost to fix before production: $200. After: $50,000+.

Common Concerns
Honest Answers to Tough Questions
The factory checking its own inputs is the party whose schedule slips if it reports a problem. Our inspector reports to you, works to your bill of materials and photographs what is on the floor.
No — they catch different problems at different stages. PPI verifies materials, tooling, and setup before production, when a fix costs a few hundred dollars. PSI checks finished goods after production, when the same problem is baked into every unit and costs tens of thousands to fix. Used together they give you complete coverage from raw material to shipment.
The PPI found our supplier using cheaper material than specified. Saved the entire order.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Schedule PPI when raw materials are due to arrive at the factory, 1-3 days before production starts. Too early and materials haven't arrived; too late and production may begin without you.
You get a Go / Hold / Reject recommendation with a clear defect breakdown before mass production begins. You can hold the run, require the factory to correct materials or tooling, and re-verify — fixing the issue for a few hundred dollars instead of thousands per unit once production has run.
Yes — a single material substitution or tooling fault multiplies across every unit no matter the order size, and PPI still costs from $268/day. For high-value or first-time orders it typically pays for itself many times over by catching one problem before production.
A standard pre-production inspection takes one inspector-day on site, and your report is delivered within 24 hours of the visit. We can deploy within 24 hours across all the cities we cover; book 1-3 days before your production start date for the smoothest scheduling.
