OUR STORY
Built by Importers Who Lost $180,000 to Preventable Quality Failures
TruMark QC exists because the quality control industry was broken: opaque pricing, slow reports, and inspectors who worked for factories instead of buyers. We rebuilt it from the ground up.
I founded TruMark QC after receiving a container of 12,000 defective units that passed my supplier's 'quality check.' That $180,000 loss taught me that the only quality control you can trust is the one you control yourself.
James Liu, Founder & CEO

The Problem
In 2017, James was running a growing electronics import business. He trusted his supplier. They had photos, certificates, and years of experience. Then a container of 12,000 LED panels arrived with intermittent flickering defects. The supplier's internal QC had passed them all. That single shipment cost $180,000 in returns, marketplace penalties, and lost customers.
The Discovery
He hired three different inspection companies to prevent it from happening again. The experience was worse than expected: one took 5 days to schedule an inspector. Another charged $480 but wouldn't reveal the price until after a form submission. The third sent a freelancer who had never seen that product category. The QC industry had the same problem as the factories: nobody was optimizing for the importer.
The Solution
TruMark QC was built on three principles that every existing company was violating: publish every price (no quote forms for standard services), deliver every report within 24 hours (not “next business day”), and employ every inspector (no freelancers with conflicts of interest). Today, eight years on, those principles haven't changed.
Our Pratfall: We're not perfect. In our first year, we missed a systematic threading defect across 8,000 garments because our textile checklist didn't include thread tension testing. That $42,000 failure redesigned our entire inspection methodology. Every checklist we use today traces back to a mistake we made and fixed.

What Makes Us Different
And what we'll tell you honestly.
Published pricing
$268/day, visible on our website. No "request a quote" for standard services. The QC industry hides prices because opaque pricing maximizes their margin, not your value.
Reports within 24 hours
Not "next business day," not "48–72 hours." Within 24 hours of the inspection date, every time, or it's free.
Employed inspectors
Our inspectors are full-time employees with fixed compensation. Not freelancers juggling multiple companies. No incentive to overlook defects.
Photos of every defect, with GPS timestamps
Every report includes time-stamped and geo-tagged photos of your product on the factory floor, and states how many it contains. You see exactly what we saw, when we saw it, and where.
Money-back commitment
If we miss the delivery window we committed to, or the report doesn't cover everything we agreed to inspect, you get a full refund.
What we'll tell you honestly: We don't have 140-country coverage like the global firms. We don't have in-house ISO 17025 labs. For importers doing $1M+ annually across multiple countries, a global firm may genuinely be the better fit. We're built for importers who want transparency, speed, and personal service at $5K–$500K annual trade volume.
Our Mission
To make quality control in China radically transparent, fast, and accessible to every importer — from solo e-commerce sellers to enterprise supply chain teams. You shouldn't need a six-figure budget or a team in China to get reliable quality control.
Our Values
Radical Transparency
Published pricing. Sample reports before you buy. Pratfall stories admitting our real mistakes. We believe trust is built by showing, not telling.
Speed Without Shortcuts
Inspector on-site within 24 hours. Reports within 24 hours of inspection. If we're late, it's free. Speed is a system, not a promise.
Your Side, Always
We work for you, not the factory. Our inspectors never accept gifts from suppliers. Compensation is fixed regardless of pass/fail results.
Continuous Improvement
Every inspection teaches us. We track defect patterns across every inspection and use that data to improve our checklists, train our inspectors, and alert clients to emerging quality risks.

Certifications & Accreditations
Salaried Inspectors
Our inspectors are salaried — our own policy, not a certificate. Nothing they earn is linked to volume, or to whether a lot passes or fails.
ISO/IEC 17020 methodology
Our inspection methodology, equipment calibration, and impartiality controls follow the international standard for professional inspection organizations.
CNAS-Accredited Partner Labs
Lab testing we coordinate is performed by laboratories accredited by the China National Accreditation Service (CNAS), so results are recognised internationally.
Accredited Lab Partner Network
We do not operate our own testing laboratory. Compliance testing is coordinated through CNAS / ISO 17025-accredited third-party labs — the partner facility issues the official certificate, recognised by customs and retailers worldwide.
What Our Clients Experience
Fewer returns & chargebacks
Clients report an average 68% reduction in product returns within the first 6 months of working with TruMark.
Data-driven decisions
Every inspection generates defect pattern data. Over time, you build a quality intelligence profile for each supplier.
Supplier accountability
When factories know an independent inspector is coming, quality standards improve before the inspector arrives.
